E22 recall

NONE of my jeeps have seen a dealer once they were out of warranty, well, except for that brake rotor recall. I even have someone I can borrow the Chrysler scan tool from now when I need it on weekends.
I hear ya! Back when I was young and foolish, I bought a brand new 76 Dodge Charger SE, with a 400 Cu In, V-8, 4-Barrel, Lean Burn, first cousin to the Chrysler Cordoba, beautiful metalic dark green outside, light green deep pile crushed velour interior, Sun roof,... God I loved that car, and so did the BABES:clap:!, but I spend more on repairs the 4 years I owned it, than I paid for the entire car buying it brand new, including 7 major transmission overhauls before it got to 100,000 miles on the ODO. In fact I spent more on transmission repairs the first 4 years than I did for the entire car.

That was the last car I ever bought new. I had better luck with a used 78 Dodge SW, 360 V-8, that I got over 400,000 miles and 18 years out of, but it still ATE 6 or 7 torque converters during that time.

Only time a stealership has seen my vehicles since 1980 has been as I drive through the parts dept for a dealer only item!:yelclap:

I don't even trust warranty services. The stealership did more damage to that Dodge Charger than they fixed every time I took it in for any warranty work. They fix one of three broken things and break 4 more.:rattle:

Needless to say, I quickly became a DIYer.:D Coudn't afford not to!!!

Update to my previous post (thread#38)
I got a call back from Chrysler on my concern about the E22 update and its potential for killing my PCM. My hopes were dashed when I was informed that the E22 update could not have caused this bigger problem. Big Chrysler had spoken. I felt like Dorothy, I'll never get back to Kansas. Then I asked... who is the technical department and can I speak to the wizard behind the curtain. " Oh sir, we call the dealership for technical questions." You gotta be frigging kidding me!!! :moon:
So it works like this. If you want a second opinion on your repairs, the dealership service department gives you a 1-800 # for customer service who graciously listens to your concerns, then calls the dealership for a ruling. What a joke. What a fraud.:skull1:

PS. I found a PCM fix on CNET. I am trying it out and will repost an update when I've given it a try.
