Dynomax $75 rebate, $79.95 for catback after rebate

Update on my summit order:

They assured me when I ordered that the rebate was in the box. Long story short, it wasn't and based on the rebate I knew it wasn't going to be. Called summit and they credited $75 to my card. Instant rebate.

The guy then said that they would have the same deal come may 1st

YMMV

I'd like to see the part numbers from the cheaper kit when someone gets one in- surely the difference in prices isn't just the brushed stainless tip.

For 1 it probably does not have the flange for the muffler.. But, for 20$ after rebate.. meh

Summit has the same kit for the same price. So do not think its too bad. Maybe they have overstock of the systems.

Do you think theres any way to get the $99 version to work on the late model cherokees? Does anyone know the main differences? Mine doesnt have the flange and Ive got to reduce from a 2.5 inch cat down to this anyway. Is the routing the same for the tailpipe?

Got mine put on. Sounds a little better than stock. Im excited for it to get a bit louder though. Mine came with the chrome tip. I had to take out the bend in the last 16 inches or so of the tail pipe. I needed it to come straight out so it didnt hit my shackle. THat was kind of a pain.

I put mine on this morning. It could not have been easier, I cut the old one off and bolted the new one on. I can't tell if its any louder but it fills like it has a little more power.

No- I ordered the kit when I first saw this thread, and a few days later it was here. They are nice for the price- everything you need in one box. My '96 and my son's '95 have them, so when I ordered this time for my '92, it was cheaper (no stainless tip), and a 2 1/2'' muffler and pipe- they include an adapter. What is the reason for the difference? <92, and >93, tho different kits. It sounds beefy on the '92- hollowed out cat, a little quieter than the Flowmaster. Great kit for the money, but even better if I ever get the rebate.

Bumping this back up - has anybody gotten the rebate back yet?
I called them yesterday and they checked on the computer and said it showed my rebate form being received on March 16. She said "your rebate will be going out soon".
I said, what does soon mean exactly? To which she replied "it says allow 8-10 weeks for processing." I said, the form I have says 6-8 weeks and it's already been 12 anyway.
All I got was "soon".
Curious to know if anybody else has seen theirs.
If you want to call and check on your rebate, the # is: 800-218-1596.
This is the "power up" promotion (they asked).

In the past when I've gone for rebates, they've waited til the promo was concluded, then mailed my check. I believe that they cut all the checks at once, and extending the offer (possibly to boost sales, or because they were moving so many kits?) may mean you'll have to wait a bit longer for the check.

That's entirely speculation on my part, but it does kind of make sense from a business standpoint- no sense cutting 10 checks a day for 2 months if you can just run them all off at once once the promotion has ended.

Nothing yet, and I just looked at the invoice, dated April 9. But, for what it cost, it is a nice system. We have the same one on our '95 and '96, the one with the stainless tip. The one I ordered for my '92 is bigger (2 1/2" vs. 2 1/4"), and doesn't have the stainless- a weird rectangular tip- but was a whole lot cheaper, about $100 IIRC. The $75 would be nice, though.

Hmmm... Guess I'll have to wait for my refund a little longer....

As others have said, mine bolted right up with exception of the last bend. I had to cut the bend out and reweld the stainless tip back on straight in order to clear my lift shackles.

Nice exhaust tho... Sounds good too.
