im trying to put a new shaft in my 89 and i have tryed every thing i took off the caliper and the bearing bolts and gave it the old hammer and crobar and nothing:dunno:

Put three bolts back in loose and hit them from the back side. I had some spare bolts, which was good because I had pound like everything with a BFH to get mine out.

What he said, or get an air hammer with a chisle tip and tear it up. Just make sure you split force evenly around the hub. Take one or two swings at each bolt.

also, before you put the unibearing back on, slather some anti-seize or wheel bearing grease around where the unibearing meets the knuckle, it will make it easier to remove next time

I used a screw driver and wedged it in around the whole hub with the assistance of a hammer took bout an hour but came out.

I went to the dealership and got 3 new bolts, cost around $18. Then I also screwed the old bolts part way in and then hammered the crap out of them.

From a previous post of mine....
As far as bearing removal, one of the best things I read somewhere on the internet (that worked for my ZJ & a friends WJ) was to loosen everything up then put on a stock steel rim (preferably with tire--like your donut spare) BACKWARDS, put the lug nuts on and wiggle back and forth....Makes a giant lever -- couple of rockings and out it comes -- helps to have a helper if the axle shaft comes out with it and also to take the rim off as well. (If you leave the 3 bolts screwed in a little, it won't all come out in your lap.

BTW, you did remove the big axle nut, right?

You don't need to remove the axle nut if you are planning on taking the shafts out as well. If your not planning on taking the shaft out, put the tire back on and break that big nut free before you get it off the jeep. Once its off, you will need a big impact gun to get it off. If its still on, you can use a breaker bar.
