Hey ... I just bought a used DP. It's a no-name tool made in 1987.
It has some lateral play between the quill tube and the cast iron head, which causes the drill bit to wobble a little. There is no play between the spindle and the quill tube ... those bearings are in good shape. The entire quill tube has play.
In the picture below, I've shown the play with a double arrow:
Is there some way to fix this? Is there a bushing between the quill tube and the cast iron head assembly? Anybody ever try to fix this sort of a problem?
Also, what is that adjustment screw for (single arrow)?
