Anyone going? This will be my first time there. I wonder how many farmers will be kicking me out, lol.

Past two weeks have been awesome for deer and bears. Didn't take any though.

Now I'm ready for the flying mini filets.

Dont know about El centro. We are going up north near Lonepine area leaving tomorrow afternoon to camp overnight and get a jump on the morning. Goodluck.

I've gone ever year for the past 5 or 6 except last year.

just don't hunt anywhere that is posted no hunting, or in any towns. avoid shooting at houses, and don't be that D-bag that shoots low across a field at other hunters and/or their trucks. everywhere else you will be fine. most farmers are either not home, or don't care.

expect to have your gun and your license checked by a game warden.

I'll be out in the evening of the 1st and the morning of the second. wish I could get out for the morning shoot on the first, but work will not allow. will be down in calexico.

ill be trying a new spot in fresno this year but will default to maricopa on the 2nd and 3rd.

Yeah, we're trying new spots this year as well. Our old reliable's, haven't been so reliable this year, and we haven't seen or heard a thing while out scouting and rabbit hunting.

FYI...
As usual the Imp. Valley has been getting HAMMERED with rain the past week or so... there wasn't much precip. there today, but the last few it was rip'n.

I normally go to a buddy's place in Porterville, but my GF wanted to go to Vegas this weekend and I agreed. I've been loosing my ass at the craps tables and will miss the dove opener altogether. Next year . . . back to Porterville!

Had a blast this morning, suprisingly the storms did not drive the birds away. Going back for the afternoon hunt later today.

The afternoon/evening shoot was slow here in calexico. Everyone I'm with that shot the morning limited out plus a lot of Eurasians and pigeons. We'll see how the morning tomorrow is.

Update:
Well, got stuck in the nastiest mud. Comparable to salton sea shit at 4am. Of course we were in my 2wd tundra.
No cell service, no shovel. Dug till 1230 and got her out. Only hit 107 degrees.

Ended the day with 40 birds thankfully, and now it's whiskey drinking time.

And the hotel room is full of crickets, lol.
