Anybody actually trying this? It makes sense, but I'm afraid to go dumping harsh chemicals in my gas tank.

This guy seems to advocate it a bunch, and has lots of claims.
I have run some in the past through to clean the injectors etc....but I would be concerned about long-term effects.

I went from 20-22 MPG to 40-44 MPG without adding anything to my gas!!
All I did was buy this....
I'm not sure about putting acetone in my gas. I'd be worried about any long term effects. Oh, I won't be leaving my jack and spare at home either... Even if you do have roadside assistance. I would rather change a tire then wait forever.

Personally, I'm with you.
If I want good MPG...I'll ride the motorcycle.
But, FWIW, My sister-in-law just bought a new Miata. It did not even come with a spare. Just Fix-a-flat.
Distances out here are too far apart for me to even trust that idea.

I tried it for a while, using the information in that HUGE acetone thread that pops back up every now and then.
I noticed no real improvement in MPG. Engine seemed to run a tad bit smoother, but that could have been my imagination. I ran it through 4 tanks (so roughly a month) of 90% city driving.

He could of made up the numbers or just driven in the city for the first few, then on the highway. That would make the big difference.
