Does this guy really own this car?

I realize that this is EBay we're talking about, however Craigs list has a piece of advice they posted as a header on the site.

[SIZE=+3][ OFFERS TO SHIP CARS ARE 100% FRAUDULENT ][/SIZE]

The clues I generally see are a price far below Blue Book for a vehicle in that kind of shape. Example: a Mint, low milage, 05' TJ for $3K. The second is that they are not local and give no phone number on the ad.
When you email them, there is always some BS excuse like the one Grim posted, and an offer to ship you the vehicle and the shipping company will deal with the paperwork.

When buying a vehicle over the Internet, make sure you can go inspect the goods, trade the title with them or their legal representative in person, and provide the transportaion yourself. If you're not willing to inspect the goods yourself, you are buying a pig in a poke.
