Yes.
You can bring a Hi-way Hilton or roll up in a tarp and sleep under your jeep. Sleep in your Jeep, whateveh. It's all been done before. Pretty much anything goes. :D

haha the lil lady will love that we camped out at Indy for the winternationals last year and all she did was sleep while i partied at the campfire. she is pretty shy but i'll try to break her before we head down

RedBull and Orange vodka will bring out the best in the quietest of people.

uh ou she is just a rookie and her with a hangover riding with me over rough terrain = me having a headache! we'll see i'll bring my good ol buddy Jack for the trip and some wine coolers for her. and of course some Johnsonville Brats!

ditto on the advice of only doin stuff you are comfortable with. don't fall into the "go for it dude trap" some people are in love with seein other people break stuff. one of problems is you will run into is people who will encourage you to push your skills by doin something ,and sometimes rightfully so. trouble is, it is hard to figure out sometimes who's really your new friends. some of the ones i have run across who push you, don't pay most of their own bills, so breakage is not a problem to them. on the other hand i have friends who wheel the" pee" out of their rigs, break a lot of stuff and enjoy absolutely every minute of it, of course some of them are quite well to do. (yes they earned it, not inherited it )i too have driven 5.5 hrs. to the Badlands and have made it home every time (sometimes barely) usually a light right foot at critical times is the key........ i'll probably break all kinds of stuff after givin advice, i know my luck will run out sooner or later!!!

don't fall into the "go for it dude trap

my problem is the "i don't wanna take the bypass. i can do this" line. LOL

you should hear my wife curse and scream everytime i say that. (incase nobody knows this, i'm saying that line in my completely stock xj. LOL) but to the surprise of the trailguides and spotters i have always made it and only have relatively minor undercarriage damage. even though i did almost roll it twice but both times was saved by somebody hanging onto my back tire at the last minute. i now have brown seat covers to hide the evidence. LOL

for all the guys offering to ride together: if you lead i shall follow (unfortunately i'll probably still be following on the trail when i shouldn't. LOL)

scorpio vette you are probabally less than a half hour from me we can easily meet up hell we should wheel locally for shits and grins i may be going to summit IL this sunday for a lil bit of playin in the snow

Bullshit...

Definately not an accurate description of MWC events...

More likely than not...

The trails are split by rig/driver capability...

That's how you wind up with "built" rigs on Green trail and "stockish" rigs on Pink...

If anything pushes anyone over their heads...

it's their own dumbass selves.

and they're usually warned before that...

Repeatedley.

thats what i've seen on MWC as well as NAXJA everyone has been helpful and courteous since i've been here ( almost a year) especially in the tech area. i trust your guys judgement and would fully take into account what you all think is too much for mine on 3" and 31's

I'll be leaving Flora, IL early Friday morning. You're more than welcome to tag along with me too.

Same offer goes for you Ranger.

No....seriously.....

we can play tag? yay!!!!

Looking at the map, that is farther south than i care to go - if i am driving straight though... takes about the same time for me to get from Lincoln to Flora as it does for me to get from Linciln to Attica...

I take 80 to 74 all the way to Attica...

thought from the looks of the map - taking 34 across Iowa would be more direct... probably a lesser speedlimit and more towns though...

this is what it looks like for me if your on this route pm me when things get closer and i can meet up with you

isn't it kind of dangerous playing tag with big square SUV's at 70mph??? i mean i've done it but we were only going 20-30mph. LOL it's actually pretty funny.

we could meet in waukesha. hwy43 and 164 by mcdonalds.
where could we wheel locally???
how far and how bad is summit IL???

i have to take it easy. out of my 3 jeeps 1 is in the garage being rebuild, the other one just got taken out of commision by a toyota corolla and won't be back on it's feet until end of december.

my xj is the only one running right now and if i kill that, my poor wife will have to walk to work. LOL

if your ever need help with work or tools, you can stop by my shop. i don't have any wrenching/wheeling buddies around here.

that offer means alot to me i am always hurting for a place to do things i usually use the inlaws garage buts its tiny but i did insulate it and i have atorpedo heater so it gets nice in there i still gotta change my rear main and exhaust manifold soon hopefully within the next few weeks

i'll keep you posted if i end up going down to Il for some fun. I have a few pics of the last time we went if you want me to send them?

summit is about an hour to an hour 15 away and i've done it stock no problems other then a stmp banging the hell out of my exhaust if you have good tires you'll be fine

LOL. i'm sorry. i hope i didn't give you dreams of a nice warm shop with lifts and stuff. LOL

my shop is a 2 car garage. but it's well organized with tons of tools (from shop presses in my basement to engine hoist to computer scanners). and it's not insulated. LOL but i got a nice torpedo heater that i usually run for about 1/2 or so before i start working.

i've got worn goodyear MT/R's. i just made the crandon run during october and didn't get stuck once. i did bend the hell out of my tie rod though. so now i have a alumi-flex tie rod from toys by troy. can't wait to see if it really flexes like in his video.

sure send me some pics. email is: [email protected]

thats fine i still appreciate it, its not to often you get an offer like that froma complete stranger like i said it means alot you'd be ok i think it depends on how much snow we get tonight lol

i got some cool video of the cranden trip with the LCJ's. it's got a real nice scene with my cherokee at max flex (end links removed). but it's like 40mb.

its not to often you get an offer like that froma complete stranger

i don't mind helping out fellow jeepers. that way if i'm ever in a rut, hopefully they'll return the favor. plus working on jeeps is a good way to meet people and make new friends. you can never have to many friends. (specially when you start making friends that have winches. LOL)

well you can follow me, we can start our own lil caravan

I might be joining your caravan for the fest because I'll be heading down there out of Racine. We'll have to see when everyone's leaving when the time gets closer.
