Does anybody have anything good to say about the Jacobs Ignition?

I have one lieing around and I have searched and been told that they are not a good idea. Most people only want to put stuff down and not praise as much(I do the same thing) on a product. So, has anyone been using one of these for an extended period and what kinda performance help did it give. If I can't find enough good things about this I am going to sell it on Ebay. Thanks

My only experience with jacobs stuff has been bad on the 4.0...

The Jacobs ignition system seems works better on older vehicles that don't have electronic ignition. Vehicles with computer-controlled electronic ignition and EFI, like our Jeeps, don't benefit at all.

Jacobs stuff is fine from all I've heard about it. I run MSD personally but it's all pretty much the same. The fact is though few stock vehicles will benefit from a CD ignition. Unless you are running high compression, high octane race fuels, and or high RPM there is no need for it. The ignitions job is to ignite the fuel mixure. Once it's lit more strikes will do nothing as the fuel in the area of the plug has already started burning. Most if not all modern ignition systems are plenty capable of igniting the fuel that enters the motor. If not, they would never meet emmisions standards. Plus if all it took was a $200 ignition system to produce more HP and MPG they would do it. Until you start to modify a motor I think CD ignitions are a waste of $$$.

My friend installed their setup on his 78 Chevy truck. It seemed to run smoother, but I'd imagine a $100 MSD would have done the same thing.

i think ignitions systems work great in higher end engines, ie supercharged, turbo and other applicatiuons where spark is alot more critical. i dont think for the money they areoverly worth it.
