As far as friends and GF/X-GF's go,they don't pay your bills,you do,so they really don't have a say-so about the way you live. However, I can tell you this based on the title:

You are attention starved and probably have low self essteem. You gain your self worth from goading others into saying nice things about you.

I have a dollar that says you also use self deprication to bring attention and compliments to yourself. Do you ever find yourself telling people you suck so they will tell you the oppposite? I bet you do.
