Disconnected cable identification

Found a disconnected cable in my engine bay today - 1992 Laredo XJ bone stock. Not sure how long it's been disconnected or it's even important at this point but was hoping I can get help identifying it. It is located right next to my alternator. See photos.

 
Can't expand your pics. IMGBB says you need to upgrade to embed pics. So it's hard to tell from your pics.

Single wire? Black? Likely a ground wire that goes on the stud on the engine block.
 
OK, the first link is a grad ceremony. The others look OK. I still think it's a ground wire.
