Looks good! If you really want to take the wheels off. You just need to buy a 3/4 drive impact wrench and 1/2 hose with fittings to install on that tank. Lug nuts go back on at 450 to 500 ft lbs. You must be an aviation tech?

I think the air pressure is about 120psi. Is that enough pressure or volume for that matter to run a 3/4" impact? 450-500 ft lbs sounds scary though and it makes AAA sound really nice.

I worked in general aviation until 9/11 then switched to commercial aviation for about 6 years. I have a desk job at Boeing now but i still do some aircraft maintenance for friends at Arlington airport mostly just to keep my license current and do some flying.

BTW theres a 1993 Beaver Baronet in Eugene for a really good price, unless it's already sold. It has the 3116 CAT motor and 6 speed allison I think.

120psi is more then enough and the volume is fine with 1/2" hose. I think the impact is rated at 90 psi and 3/8" hose but don't remember. The torque rating I gave was for hub centered wheels and it is correct. To tighten the wheels I would recamend something like this http://www.torquestick.com/cart/475...AR-Yellow-LETTER-M-3-4-DRIVE-475FT/LB-34.html They work real good I have some. You would have to leave the motor running, also just loosen and tighten a few nuts at one time so the compressor can keep up.

That's what I do for a living. I have been working on anything diesel powered for about 12 years. I worked for a shop that was right across the street from an RV dealership. People wold come over to us after they found out the dealer was $110. and hour and we were $95.00. I think as you mentioned before about the motor home being built around the motor. I have had to cut a few out to work on them and then put them back in.

O yea what kind of mileage did you get going home with your new to you coach? Also you should check into alternative fuels like bio or waste vegetable oil. I use to run waste motor oil in my last two diesel trucks. Worked great cut my camping costs in half.

I bought a motorhome over the weekend. So I thought I would post a pic on your thread so you could see. I know it's not a pusher but it's what would fit where I live so I have to deal with the poor mileage. It's a 96 28' Georgie boy fully loaded.

I should get between 7-10 MPG based on internet research. I got the Speedo working but its about 20 MPH off so ill have to get a GPS unit to get some good data.

Not too shabby at 9MPG, hopefully it doesn't get a ton worse when you're towing. Growing up we had a carbureted 460 Class A and it was a POS. We sucked two exhaust valves in 4 years on these nasty western passes. I don't think that old 460 had hardened valve-seats to deal with the unleaded fuel. Later my parents purchased an injected 460 class C, probably same setup as yours, it was a great power train with good gas mileage, reliability, and easy maintenance.

Yup, right in the driveway, I'm sure the neighbors love me. I need to get some semi chains before the snow starts coming down, or maybe the type sound transit uses. I'm sure this wont be the first motor home I've accidentally drifted in the snow :shocked:

He went right out and replaced his late 80's 454 chev coach with a 99 37' Coachman 275hp isb pusher. He told me that he was sick of the 5mpg and was thinking he was going to get 11 with this one. We filled up and drove to Nehalem Bay to do some crabbing and test out our new toys. He towed a two door geo tracker and I towed my 2200lb boat. I got 8 and paid $2.70 a gallon he got 8.6 and paid $3.30. since then I have used mine 3 times just weekend trips. I have also got the xj setup to tow and working on the yj now.

Yeah, we have used 3 times so far, no wheeling trips though. We've gone to longbeach a couple times and then to Lake Jameson in Eastern Wa for some trout fishing. I'm still waiting to buy a brake setup for my Cherokee so I can tow legally here in Wa.

What have you fixed on yours?

Our first trip out, the speedo cable broke so I'm not certain on the mileage although I estimate about 7. I fixed the speedo cable and it broke again on our third trip. One puny little cable runs two tone generators, one for the speedo, one for the cruise control and its routed through some sort of adapter. I think the adapter is seizing up so I will price replacing it or rebuilding it and probably end up buying a GPS unit instead.

I always do a walk-around inspection when we stop and just as we pulled into Leavenworth I noticed the entire back of the coach was covered in Diesel :wow:. It turns out the high pressure fuel line for the #8 injector came loose, no doubt on the washboard road to Jameson I assume. I checked every fitting and this was the only one that was even remotely loose. We got lucky, of all the fuel fitting's that could have come loose this was a high pressure line but also the closest to the turbo.

What have you fixed on yours?

Well the first time out the ball valve went out on toilet and leaked clear water all over the floor. Mine has the fold up dinning table and it fell off the wall. Well with a little help from one of the kids, O and they also broke a window blind. I have also found a broken exhaust manifold bolt, it makes a little noise but not bad. I was planning on headers anyway.
