Does anyone know of any diesel engines that will fit in an xj...without too much major modding. Thnx

Nissan also made a 6 cyl inline Diesel, the Air Force uses them in Jeep Tugs. These are a strange looking Jeep. They have a CJ looking hood, but with Square headlights mounted in the fenders. The back is cut off and there is a heavy steel rear that has the tow hooks. They use a 1 ton rear and the front axle is just a hollow tube, no diff. However, they do have a Auto trans and a T-case, but it seems to only be used to get the low gear. The tugs top out at about 25 MPH.
This would be my choise if I were to go Diesel in an XJ, but finding one may be hard. Airports may also use them.
