What he's got there is a Detroit Nospin, or the original Detroit Locker.

I was more referring to Talyn saying that the OP was incorrect in calling what he has a Detroit. Which it is. Just a specific model. Calling a truetrac a Detroit is not incorrect. It's like calling an XJ a Jeep

If a tire on one side was larger than the other side could this be possible? I don't mean a 31 and 33, but maybe a worn out tire or different brand. It would be constantly ratcheting.

Idk my tires are like new so I doubt that's it. It was a freebie to me so its been through the ranks before I'm sure. It's probably been wheeled hard, I don't honestly know. Good news is I can pick it up Thursday with a new locker in it

as someone that daily drove a 5 speed MJ with a full detroit locker in the rear.

You will know when the tires don't have the same amount of air in them, I'd imagine unevenly worn tires would produce the same (bad) behavior.
lots of ratcheting, loud bangs and a willingness to try to kill you during simple lane changes.

Yep, that's daily driving a detroit.
