Deep Woods Extreme Crawling comp. & Show, NH, July 22

its about an hour anf a half from me, if i can ever get my rig built up in time me and my freind may head down. but i have a few questions. have you been there before? what is it like? and are there any places to ride around that area while we are down there?

No, I haven't been before..... Perhaps, others who have will check in with comments. Looks like a good time, though!

I'll probably go, it's a great show...quite a few vendors set up selling all kinds of stuff, every kind of 4x4 from quad-shocked full size shiners to military unimogs to beater CJ's and everything in between, good fair ground food (sausages w/ peppers & onions and cinnamon fried dough mmmmm!) and of course the rock crawl comp is what it's all about and a real crowd pleaser.

You can drive your Jeep in and park on the fairgrounds or just park in the big lot and walk in which is what I've done in the past. If you were thinking about entering the comp you may be too late, they were almost completely booked about a week ago. There's no wheeling as part of the event so you'd be on your own for that, there may be class VI's in the area I really don't know.

The first DWE competition I attended was in 2005 as a spectator. I made my mind up right then and there, that I would be back next year to compete.
Built my rig, and took a 2nd place finish in the modified class in 06. I'm already registered for this year's event. Can't wait.

It's a great time. Hope to see ya up there.

I hope to get there early enough to see your run this year Mark! ....last year we were just walking in the gate and could hear the cheers and over the PA something like "great job Mark in the red XJ"

Are you in the modified class again? I saw something in the rules and wasn't sure if it would bump you to unlimited or not.

The running order is drawing a number out of a hat. I pulled the fourth starting position, so my turn was early in the day. Wish you could have been there to see the run.

I'm tentatively registered in modified right now, but the final decision will be made during tech inspection the morning of the show.

I am signed up for unlimited in the buggy I still need to finish. Guess I better get to work.

That was a blast! This year's course was the toughest yet. There and back over the obstacles in under 15 minutes.
The rig took a good beating. I broke a bunch of stuff halfway through but kept going. Finished 3rd in class.

It was good to meet you Steve. I also met up with quite a few other NAXJA people throughout the day. I'm looking forward to next year's event already.

It was a good time, your run was really good mark, especially after your driver's side shock and coil decided to come off, your spotter was one of the best of the day too.
The tracker was pretty awesome in the rocks too. Saw some neat XJs there, only one commanche though.

Mark's run was, with all aspects and factors considered, one of the best of the day...! --- I'll hereby put up the first dollar, to be sent via Paypal, for the 'buy-Mark-limit-straps' fund....:)

I'd agree it was quite good compared to the others in his class.

Overall I had an awesome day (and a pretty sunburned face to prove it) I'd wish I'd been able to meet more of you as we (my girlfriend and I) did go looking around for any stickers on rigs I could find during the 'intermission' between the Modifieds and the Unlimiteds but could find anyone with a sticker. There was one rig with another forums sticker on it, but no one around to be found.

I only noticed one XJ with a NAXJA NAC sticker, I was looking too, should've written my username for here on the info slip for the show and shine. A great day though!

Hmm... I must have missed that one, I swore we looked at every XJ there... oh well.
