decal application help

had some decals made up for my jeep, one for the winsheild (lettering) and a more intricate one for the rear glass. What is the proper procedure for installing these? I had a bugger of a time getting them to stick. I cleaned the glass with alcohol, warmed it up a bit with the heat gun, used film application fluid ,set the decal on and squeegeed it. tried to peel the clear plastic layer off but it kept pulling up all the lettering. What am I doing wrong? I used to tint for a living, I thought it would be the same process.? I don't want to mess up my rear glass decal, (not cheap) Thanks!

the liquid is keeping the decal adhesive from adhering to the glass. let it dry before you try to remove the transfer paper and you should be fine.

so just leave the transfer paper on there a while after squeegeeing it. i vote off topic. If I said it was going on my corolla it would be off topic

The best way I've found for putting decals like that on are clean the glass, get it wet so decal can be placed and laid out as desired, use heat gun inside and out to dry it up, totally soak the backing of decal with soapy water to release decal from backing, pull from one side with backing still against window to create the smallest bend so the decal stays on window. Everyone I've done that way has worked like a charm and if the decal corner starts to come up use a razor to peel it off the backing and stick it back to window.
