Dbl roller issue

Ok I installed the cloyes dbl roller timing set on the stroker I am building. The problem is the oil shedder (slinger) will no longer fit. The gear on the crank being twice as wide uses up the entire keyway that the oil slinger shares with the single. Can I safely operate the motor with out the oil shedder? I apreciate any help i can get.

I replied to your message in the stroker group. Yes, you can leave out the oil slinger. There's no space for it and the dual roller chain and sprockets should splash enough oil around.

Right on. I am just worried about blowing up my motor cause of something dumb. So I am takin my time and building it up with lots of asked questions.

Wise man. Nearly all of the early stroker failures occurred either because of mistakes made during assembly or improper cam break-in so take your time and do it right the first time. :)

Correct, but you don't need to go to a dyno to do the cam break-in. Just make sure it's at a fast idle (I think you can hold the engine close to 2000rpm for 20 minutes just by sound alone).
Change the oil and oil filter after the cam break in is complete. Use dino oil for at least the first 3000 miles before switching to synthetic.
