long strory short got a family reunion in Orlando July4th weekend. Me and my brother are driving to Daytona on Sat. for the race. anyone been or is in the area that can give tips on parking ext? i know theres lots close to the track and the airport has parking. anything better? Thanks
If you get there early enough you will have your pick...but it will almost certainly cost you for parking if you are within 1/2 mile of the track. We were there at the Turkey Rod Run Thanksgiving weekend and the actual track parking that is across the street was nice and convenient. I can't speak for what the prices will be for a race to park though. I would expect to pay $5-20 depending on where you go.
If it were me...I'd get to where I wanted to park no later than noon...and would try to be in the area by 10 AM. I know it's very earl considering when the race starts but before it was a night race we'd usually go the night before. Fighting the 100K plus folks who did not plan ahead is a real PITA. The last race I went to we parked at the Home depot which is on the same side of the street as the track and walked to the track from there. Easy in/out.
