Well I hope I didn't just make a $240.00 mistake. I just bought a axle shaft set off craigslist from Seattle WA for my up coming axle build. He told me he thought they were Yukons but they have no name on them. He said they do say 4340 on them and are for 760 joints. He also said they are rusty but can be cleaned up and used just fine. I was talking to Darrel over at kna offroad the other day about Yukon gears and other things. And he did say they didn't mark a lot of stuff with there name for say. I guess I just cross my fingers at this point.

I did get him to let me pay with paypal so I do have some buyer protection. (I hope)

my yukon shafts are only marked with 4340 on them, over time they do get a little rusty. just make sure after every couple trips you check your ujoints, for some reason my shafts like to eat thru them quickly

Poke around the tech forums...I wrote some stuff about snap ring thicknesses and how ujoints get chewed up when the rings are too thin. ;)

if the shafts have the same 4340 stamp on them, they are alloys.

IIRC when i had the Yukon HardCore shafts, they had Zero Markings anywhere!

I know this new Nitro alloy setup i have dont either, except you can tell a few differences when they are set side by side with factory 297s

I noticed on Randy's site they offer the Chinese shafts and also the hardcore that they acquired from Warn made in the US. Not for shire about this just what I have found on the net so far. I emailed the picture to Randy's and asked. So I will see what they say by the 5th maybe.

The way I see it now is they are new and will hold a 760 joints. also I paid $200.00 for them and I had nothing before I started the build. Even if they are no better then stock I don't think I personally can break them. I'm not going to run a front locker just a limited slip.

These shafts that I got from RR&P have the same exact markings. 4340 is the type of alloy metal that is used to make the shafts! Do yourself a favor and make sure you get full circle clips for your joints

Just in case I forwarded the pic to Randy's and they confirmed them to be Yukon's. I now feel a little better about this deal. Except why the heck would this guy sell me a $600.+ set of axles for $200.00? I know theirs something wrong! I never have this good of luck.
