D44 spotted...

Eureka, CA, John's Auto there is a '87 w/ a D44 3.54. At the counter they didn't know it was a 44 and they told me $300 if i pull it and $350 if they do. does that sound like a rip or what? wonder what they would charge me if they knew it was a 44?

the jeep still had it's tires on it so i might be the first spotter, usually they are pretty molested here.

well red91, i will be headed up there to pick up a tcase soon...maybe i'm in the market if you still have one.

i was kinda pissed at them because my buddy picked up a 44 from them last year for $250 (they didn't know..."that's a funny lookin 35" seems to be what i heard). why can't they give me that price?! are they gonna blame it on the gas prices? i was thinkin' goin' in and offering them $400 for both axles...so i don't have to regear (i have an ax-15).

is yours also a 3.55 red91?

my brother lives in everett and i will be up there to visit and buy a tcase around the 20th. in case you didn't notice, i'm the smartass who offered you two-ninety-something and change in your for sale post. that would still make it more than the wreckers with the gas and all (650+ miles), but i AM already planning to come up. maybe i'll just go for it...i do want one. thanks.

Yeah...actually 3.54 but its the same thing. actually I clean it up and it came out nice...was thinking of useing it to regear...but should you be coming this way let me know...I can meet you somewhere...I don't want the wife to see the $ cause this will buy me the gears for the 44 I have now....and maybe...the fronts too :D

I dislike the new sales forum...not as slick as it used to be...if you want it I can get some RUSTOLEUM and make it look sexy...;)

and yeah red91, 3.54 is what i meant, though i've seen 3.55 written on here so many times (did they have both?) i wasn't sure if i read the tag right.

you have to call me....its a possibility. 3.54 in the rear and usually 3.55 in the front...one tooth between the two either way will not make a difference.
