I have recently developed a vibe in the front and found that after the recent heavy snow a couple weeks ago my CV boots are splitting on the outers and the driver had spit about all the grease out so I ordered a new set . I stripped down the driver did pooped the assembly out the way I always do on the xk and wk by simply pulling on them with a quick snap and then installed the new eBay shaft but I went to pull it out and ended up pulling the inner diff side apart it appears to only just sit inside the cup with not reatiner like factory and the boot is the only thing keep it from just slipping out ? Is this really how these aftermarket chinaco specials are built the OEM is retained pretty solidily and able to be simply popped out . I can put it back together but I'm concerned that this won't last very long especially with a lift and might just pull the OEM apart and see if the bearings are still good enough repack and reboot and return these chinaco specials. I've never seen anything but OEM shafts d
So I can't verify if this a defect or how they build the cheap shut.
