Just wanted to post some pics (Link below) on my first project on my XJ. All in all it took about 1 good day. It really took 3 days (4,3,4).

Started by taking of front and rear bumpers to make life easier. And it did.
One mistake that I made was while cutting the front fenders (Tj front flares have a lip that goes around the inside bottom edge that helps hold them in place, you could choose to cut them off). I put the flares where I wanted them to go. I then followed the contors of the TJ flares on the bottom edge, and traced that edge to the fender. But when you go to mount them, the fender goes against the top edge of the flares. Therefore you will be off about 1/4 of an inch. Take a look at a TJ flare and you will know what I mean. Hindsite if I did it all over, after tracing the contor I would trace another line above that one about 1/4 of anch and cut there.
This was the write up that I used to help me cut the rear quarters.

Is this write up the person pop riveted the corners. For know I just have them cut and folded up, soon to be welded.
After all the cutting it was time to mount the flares. A little tetious job the way I choose to mount them. I choose to cut them to the lower contor of the body. Which means Measure, cut, measure, cut. You get the Idea. I have seen some cut the flare to the point where lower part of the body starts to flare, therfore iliminating all the teditious measuring and cutting.
Next step is the lift, which will go on in the next couple weeks. It's a mix and match bunch of parts. I should end up with about 4 1/2 inches when I am done. Before I started to cut I picked up a set of 31" tires. Now after all the clearance I have I have decided to go with 33's.
I'll post pics after the lift install.
