craigslist score! Athol 614 vise

well I went to my storage and identified my old vise.... after being tucked away for 30 years, I was close....

Its a Craftsman 5162 ... 4" Machinist Vise. aka Rock Island or Reed.

This particular vise looks exactly like certain Rock Island's or Reed's but with Craftsman branding.

Craftsman was known to contract out to other companies for many of their tools. I'm not surprised, but at least you know it's damn good quality.

Yea, I posed photo's over on that website you guys turned me on to. A few guys over there gave me some helpful advice how to bring it back to life... I'm going to oil it up and see how it looks. It worked fine 30 years ago.
