Cracked block??

There are some ceramic block sealers that we used to use in our big trucks. I would use one only if I didn't allow any coolant to pass through the heater core during initial use.

On topic;
So if bolt #11 wasnt sealed properly or if the block was cracked around #11 would that cause coolant to bubble in the rad with the cap off and engine running with no signs of coolant in the oil???
I think i have this prob.

I highley doubt you cracked a Renix block. If you did not replace the headgasket when you put the new bolts in your test results are worthless. Also, if you did not make sure the head AND block were straight, then again your test results are flawed. This definetly sucks for you man. You had to have the head shaved, what makes you think the block didnt need it? Its a learning process man, I learn most things the hardway. You can buy a machinists flat edge and a set of feeler gauges for under $100 and do the checks yourself.

Every time I pull the head off I do all new gaskets. The head bolt set I got was the Felpro set for the 1996. Everything measured the same except for 2 on the inside of the valve cover that had a tit on them.

This weekend, Im going to pull everything apart again. I can see the crack its right along that spot I circled earlier on in the post. It runs along the top of the hump just under the exhaust bolt past the head bolt and near where the water pump bolt is.

Most people i talked to say that block sealer stuff doesnt work....
What would be the outcome of overtorquing that number 11 bolt would it cause exhaust or compression to go into the coolant?Does that bolt run through the water jacket?I fear i overtourqued when i retorqued my head bolts.....is it possible that i just broke the sealant that was on #11 bolt(fingers crossed)?

Well, the exhaust manifold bolt and the #11 head bolt share the same passage. they actually cross each other. Wich I think is a bad design, especaily that the one water pump bolt is also going into the block at the same place. its a weak point to be putting a head bolt. And PROBABLY why its only 100 ft-lbs, as oppose to the others that are 110 ft-lbs.

Im looking into getting the block magnafluxed for cracks. or build a magnaflux myself

Here you can see the small hairline crack.
