Does any one on here do any Coyote hunting around the state. I'm in Colorado Springs, and I'm trying to get into it. Does any one have any hot spots? they'd like to let me in on? any one with some land that have a coyote problem?
Thanks,
-Matt

I knew a farmer out east and he would let me hunt part of his land to keep them down. Always told me the hot spots he would see them at or around. Stinky little things. They sold the land years ago and it's been 15 some years sense I last did that. It was fun.

See thats why I want to go.... Its a 21 dollar lisence. and unlimited kill, and season is year round.... I know that sounds easy, but from what i understand, they're not that easy. So I'd like to go some where were i can shoot some yotes' If you learn of any areas or have friends who have any land and want them gone please let me know asap. I really don't want to drive too far from the springs though.

that'd be a blast. I have a new .204 I'd LOVE to whack some yotes with. Hell I'll even buy a call :D
I don't have any friends so I'm SOL on knwing people.

I go a few times every year. Seems like less and less but I have all of the stuff. Calling machine
CD's
MP3's
.223
Lots and lots of fun.

This was some night calling from 2 years ago east of Pueblo.

Come sit on my front porch between daylight and 8:30AM and a nice healthy one that looks like a well kept dog trots down the street. I'll throw some dog food out to see if he will stop for it. If you can trac and kill one you will be considered a hunter among hunters. I have heard of folks hunting them for 20 years and never getting one.

are you kidding? hell we used to set up the call machine back in MT and they'd come running
my dad has some buddies up in alberta that run em down in pickups until they can get ahead of them then they bail out and shoot them on the run. BIG dogs too.

Prarir dogs are everywhere around here, but you ask where to go shoot them and no one knows either :(

Did ya forget my # slappy? Would have gone!!

I bought a NEF .223. I can't wait to get out if any of ya'll go, I'd love to go. Nice dogs Jwtrapper!
isn't there land right around pueblo reservior i'm able to hunt, I've camped there a few times and have worken up to the chatter of the dogs... I need to preactice some calling to, but electric calls are cool too!

Yeah you can hunt the reservoir but it is limited to shotgun only. Shotguns are fun to hunt coyotes with too, you just let them get in a little closer. There are dogs out there but they get hunted a bit more. When I lived in Buena Vista I did a lot more coyote hunting, there are just a lot more places to go. Since I have been in Pueblo I only go once or twice a year. Just not as much public land.

Thats nuts because we really didn't have to do much to get at least 10 or so in a weekend. get a caller a 6 pack and just sit they will come to you.

Sit still next time we start calling and not get up and move as the dog is coming in and it make the hunt more successful......... Guess you would have had to been there to get this, however dabeersboys should know I am talking about him. Guess dam kids have to alway learn the hard way :gee:

I don't know what to say.... um, busted... Well I learned my lesson and I get it now... so lets move on...

LOL, I can only do that because your my Jeep and Hunting buddy. You were busted that day... I will say it was his very first hunting trip ever I believe. Just busting your chops. Let go kill some bird this weekend!

If you can get into the dump, thats usually a good place for them. They eat the trash. Check with the local animal control office since its legal they will know where they are the greatest nuisance.:bunny:
