Concur. However, expect to see more of this as the Nanny State gains power (unless we manage to reverse that trend. Now.)

That's as bad as the Joliet woman that was arrested for child neglect after leaving a sleeping child locked in a running car less than 50 feet away so her other daughter and that kid's friend could put money in a Salvation Army kettle, then have the arresting officer leave the same kids at that store with store security until the father of the sister's arrived:smsoap:

I read about episodes like this and think back to a book I read a long time ago.
Titled "Hell, I Was There!", written by some old coot 'name of Elmer Keith.

In it he describes an incident where a truant officer of some type had taken his son into custody for some reason or other. He pulled a gun, forced the release of his kid, then issued a very explicit death threat if he ever heard another word out of the man, of if his son ever had any other problems.

I guess you could get away with that in the first half of the last century.
