Hey guys as your planning your wheelin' trips for this year keep the Kansas Krunch (June 3rd, 4th, and 5th) in mind. Here's a story about the first KK from 4WDrive Lines May 2000-July 2000 that has some photos of what you could expect to see there. (we just got a new web site, and in the transfer we lost a lot of photos that were on the old site. So maybe more photos to come)
It's at Shields KS about one hour north of Garden City, or one hour south of I-70 at Oakley

I'd like to show my club that there are more XJ's out there than just mine.

See ya'

Sounds like fun but I'll be in Moab that weekend.

I think I can make that, but you got any rocks??? :dunno:

Me too Led. Got it penciled on my calendar - maybe for the Friday and Saturday part anyway.

Your rig might get some funny looks Led....... I checked out some other picture links and didn't see much tube being used among those Kansas 'wheelers......

I think I'll try to make this...sounds interesting. As long as I dont have to go anywhere near Greensburg/Kiowa county. :)

Rocks, Yea, we imported a pile of them. and there are two little rock ledges that we've found. It's mainly chasing the bottoms of the canyon. Just like Scratch and Dent out by Ouray, only with no rocks or trees.

Nope nowhere near there, the cops are much nicer around shields.

Yea, well last year I posted about it in the Un-Official Trail Runs (Informal Events) and I only had two replies, and they were from me. :rattle: :rattle:

That's the nice part about wheelin Kansas, nothing to fall off of (black bear comes to mind :wierd: ) if you mess up in the wrong place here you might roll a couple of times (but you really have to work for that) You could do like I did. fall on the side, pick it back up and go on. (you saw mine after it's trip on the side, not much damage from the Kansas dirt.(scratch and dend did more damage))

I go to Hoxie sometimes to go pheasant hunting. Damn good bird hunting out there too! Wouldn't be worth it for me to drive my rig all the way out there for the krunch though. minus the skids and sliders its pretty much stock...
