Not that I can't look up the list online myself, but I was just wondering if you guys had any personal recommendations of who to goto or who to avoid.

The Jeep needs its semi annual diesel E-test done and this time I'm registering it in the springs so I'm heading there tonight and gonna try to get that all wrapped up tomorrow, hopefully I can find a shop without too much trouble.

I'm glad I'm not a Grand Cherokee diesel owner as those guys need an AWD diesel E-test. Oh lord that has to make life harder.

Colorado Springs/El Paso is a non-emission required city/county.

Yeah, my bad. Just cruzed over to the DMV website and it says most of El Paso County still tests Diesels..... not sure if it's a dyno test or just an opacity test...... but a test nonetheless. :thumbdn:

Ya, for years larimer has not had emissions testing.......except for diesels.

Two years ago when I did the test last the opacity reading was 0%, guy couldn't even get a reading out of it. Even ran the test twice while an annoyed me waited around.

Effin *ell man, there are 5 (FIVE) diesel testing stations in fort collins, and 1 (ONE) in colorado springs.

Fort Collins - 144,000 people
Colorado Springs - 645,000 people

Exhaust Readers 4402 N Nevada, its on a dyno. call 260 6629 to set appointment.

and they are the biggest crock of shit stuck up better thou shop ive ever been to.
there dyno is a hunk of shit and the guys working there have no idea how to do a true dyno run......cant dyno in over drive

Soooooooooooooooo, is there a standard State test for diesel, or does that vary by location?

I was just gonna ask the same thing. I'm thinking a test is a test and as long as the results print out has the state seal and "pass" on it..... you should be good. I'd call El Paso DMV and ask if the test has to be done down there.

Well I guess I'm going to find out today what that place is like at 9:45.

Well it looks like I'm going to use my buddies addy in the mountains. CEL does not illuminate during startup(and I think that peice of electrical tape has something to do with it)

Ya that don't surprise me. I would have tried to do this yesterday in fort Collins but the jeep chucked the belt tensioner and that need to be done so I couldn't get it done. The pisser of the CEL is that the only way to fix it is to replace the Ecu. Sometimes when these things get jump started it triggers this CEL Which only goes away with a new one. Grrr.
