Cliff's?

its pretty cool if you like mud and like to get
very very wet!!! lol

it also has tons of "winding" trails through a "forest" like
setting...

tons of "ravines" or valleys etc for you to try to fit in...
and a small "river" to play in...

i would get a snorkel as last time is was there i got in a puddle that was way to deep for my stock air box.... and i didnt "f" up stuff too bad but it took a couple hundred to get new wires plugs fluids and could have cost alot more but i was lucky...

lets say next time i NEED a snorkel (if your going to go in the "mud" pits) hard to avoid them...

anyways if you wanted to go sometime this summer we can meet up if you want (me and a buddy)

^ what he said ^

except every time I've been their it wasn't as wet or muddy as everyone says, their is a lot of mud, but nothing that you can't avoid.

btw, dig the sig line. "where talkin some F'n muscle"

"you gotta get some tires though man, their pizza cutters"

great movie.

all very good replies. in a nut shell: muddy (dont let anyone tell you anything else), most trails run at the bottom of ravines, lot of fun

slippery mud.
falling on your azz all day long.
winch, winch, winch....
faggettaboutit

don't call me.

if you go....post up some videos.

Just thought I'd ask cuz its about 30 min. from where I live. A buddy at work told me the mud is really soupy unlike the Badlands.

Spikeyhair87-- Yeah man we'll go there sometime. Definitely take some vids for Bob. I did U tube Cliffs and saw a locked YJ stuck in 2 inches of realy wet mud.

Only 2 inches.... that must have been during a drought.....

And I have fallen in that crap everytime I have gone there...

Also the quad idiots use the parking lot as mud hole training for their kids... you have to REALLY watch out when unloading your Jeep off the trailer...

iv been there a bunch of times last time it was all frozen so it was nice not haveing to be pulling my buddy out i only say that b/c last weekend he was getting stuck in everything haha he needs new tires. but yeah its a fun place to go lots of cliffs to drive up and down. can get hairy in spots i have dents on both sides of my rig from trees there...iv gone alone but i have a winch and i used it a lot that day but if u dont have a winch id say go with someone because they charge you to pull you out if your really stuck good haha. i know this b/c i asked. and trying to tell them where you are in that place is impossable unless you have been there more then a few times.

trailer? you tow your jeep? Lol....just poking fun cause I wish I had a tow rig. :(

Yes.... the Illinois State Police are EXTREMELY anal about plates and insurance on any vehicle with tires on the road..... Whether its flat towed or an axle on a dolly... it MUST have both to be on the road....

They didn't charge me to get pulled out, I didn't really need them, my buddy in his wrangler could've pulled me out. But the guy was right behind me.

Some guy in a green samurai, had a big chevy sticker on the back and said it was geared so low it would only go 20 mph in 5th gear. took him like 4 tugs, so I was stuck pretty good.

hell of a nice bunch a guys they have down their, I would love to have their job, just driving around the park all day, pulling people out and wheeling.

good video.
that area is all flat.
when you go take video's
of trying to climb the muddy hills.
fun for some.
the Badlands mud isn't quite as slippery.
and, it isn't everywhere.
there have been many threads here about Cliffs.
it seems to be a consensus that short wheel based Jeeps do better at Cliffs.
not many XJ's with the exception of a few (like SWAP)
The Badlands seems to me to hav better trals.

And that's not even one of the trails.... If you guys had gone just a little further in from there... there is a deeper spot.

i found that "deeper spot" and that is why i need to get a snorkel and had to replace to fluids and almost "smoked" my engine.. i was quiet lucky...

The last time I was there the guy in the front of our group found a log in there and tore a tire... had to be winched out backwards...
