Clear table top...

Need to find a clear table top, 36"x1/4", round, edge may be polished or frosted - but must be dressed. Prefer tempered glass or polycarbonate, and I'd really rather not get raped over it!

I know about TAP Plastics. Unless they've managed to drastically alter their pricing model downwards (I've yet to hear that they have,) I certainly can't afford them. Know anywhere else local that I could check into something like this? OSH and HD only sell rectangular plates, and Lowe's is probably the same.

I'm going to start digging around myself in the next few days, but I'm hoping some gracious soul here can save me some trouble...

Santa Clara County for walk-in shops. Mail-order OK, if the shipping won't murder me and you know they pack well enough to not have United Package Smashers break the damned thing (although it would be easier to ship poly than glass...)

Thanks!

Way off topic but...

Do you realize you have averaged 6.5 posts a day for 7 years? I've never seen so many posts! Is this correct? It has to be a record of some sort.

Record? I doubt it. Correct? Probably.

Bear in mind that I have spent most of the last ten years working out of my home and functioning as primary caretaker for someone - even though I've finally been relieved of that gig (as of last October. No, the right person didn't take over - I just ran the job out...)

Also bear in mind that I'd gotten into some fairly intense technical discussions and Q&A around here on theory, so I'm not really surprised at the average. There have been single threads that have seen me put 15-20 posts up just answering questions! (I try to not BS too much...)

But, I don't think that's any sort of record. We've got plenty of BS Artists around here who can talk more while saying less...

Back OT - got any ideas to help me with the little problem I've mentioned here?

I know this is old...but I was looking for info on replacement wiring when I saw this.... You might look into Plexiglass. I've got a kitchen table that my grandfather made in the early 70's. It looks like 1/2" plexi. It's rectangular. We get compliments on it all the time. I'm looking for some kewl chairs to go with it.:eyes:

An all-acrylic table? Interesting...

I just didn't really want to use acrylic - it's an outside table, and acrylic yellows with exposure to UV.

Besides, I managed to resolve this, so this is just more "thread necromancy" than anything else - but thanks for the thought!
