Does anyone know when Clear creek will be open again. Or is this going to be closed for good. Seems like forever since I was able to ride there. :roll:

I'm at work so don't have the info available, but check out California Assoc of Four Wheel Drive Clubs last newsletter (In-Gear). There was an update in that one.

Based on the results of the Environmental Protection Agency’s CCMA Asbestos Exposure and Human Health Risk Assessment, the Bureau of Land Management Hollister Field Office has issued a Temporary Closure, effective May 1, 2008, to all forms of entry and public use for approximately 31,000 acres of public lands in the Clear Creek Management Area (CCMA) to protect public health and safety.

It is really strange that they are actually closing a wheeling area because they think it could be dangerous to us, not because they think we are dangerous to it. Sucks that it closed though, I haven’t been there since 07 and I have been looking forward to going back.

Yeah i wish they would do there study and let us back in to ride for pete sake. I am also looking foward to them opening it back up. Ive never had my 4 wheel drive there i bet it would be kind of fun....
