my subaru is gunna cost way too much in the near future. so im selling it and im looking at buying another jeep. im thinking something along the lines of a SWB MJ 4x4 with a 5spd, or maybe another XJ also 4x4 with a 5spd. im just not sure, last few times i tried something different from an XJ ended in either failure, or it is just way over priced to maintain. then again an MJ is practically an XJ with a bed rather then back seats.

You can fit more girls in an XJ, yet on the other hand you can throw a mattress in the bed of a MJ. Seems you just need to focus on getting something that's reliable and won't cost an arm and a leg to maintain. My vote goes to a lower mileage XJ.

Go with an XJ, ya know 'em, ya know how to maintain 'em, plus, in a pinch, you can lay down the back seat, and sleep if ya have to, it's alot more comfortable than the bed of a truck when it's raining.arty:

Good luck finding a 5 speed XJ in Texas ... I spent a month looking and only saw 3 5 speed models with 4x4. I may have been looking in all the wrong places though.

If you find one local to DFW that is in good shape I might cry. I am really gonna miss my 5 speed XJ ... I know I am gonna ask a premium for it when I sell though

well it was lifted, locked and spooled, and farely beaten. was a good jeep wished i never let my family sell it

The cheapest 5 speed I found with under 140k was $3800 for a mildly modded one. I couldnt find a decent stock one to save my life. I guess it worked out though, I ended up buying a 95 on 35s ... not very stock lol.

Two weeks ago I picked up a stock two door, 4.0, 5 speed, 4x4 in Fort Worth with working A/C even for $1500. Has 146k on it.

I tried like hell to find a 5 speed xj with 4x4 to no avail. I guess I will live with the AW4 I have now till I find a donor.
