Chicago Lingo

I was born and raised on da Nort side.
At 22 I started moving. moved to Jersey, Utah and Florida.
In 1997, believe it or not, an old job I once applied to in 1986
called me, made me an offer I couldn't refuse. And here I am.
I plan on staying for a while now.

I miss Chicago/Northern IL a bit, but I get my taste of it when I visit my family twice a year. The weather and off roading here in Northern Cali is off the hook. :)

I've found a few good pizza joints here in Sacramento that rival Girodano's and Uno's, but you just cannot get a good Gyro or Italian Beef to save you life, lots and lots of Mexican and Chinese food though. :confused1

Chicago lingo like you guys are talking about seems to come from areas close to downtown. Like the Al Bundie accent. I was trying to go to the Field Museum 1 day and got there late and couldn't find parking. The cop directing traffic said to us when we couldn't find parking, "Why don't you bag it and try it another day." in the heavily laid down accent I ever heard.

The old Saturday Night Live skits with Chris Farley and others laying down the Ultimate Bears and Bulls fans is so funny. A true Chicago classic accent. "The......Bulls......The Bulls.....The Bulls.....The.......Bears.....The Bears....The Bears...." :-)

Sounds good. I have 4 XJs here in Cali. I'm selling 3 of them, kind of a get it dirt cheap, clean it up, and sell for a $1K+ profit. I have to look into getting a XJ waiting for me to go wheeling when I visit IL. Maybe just a mild 3-4" lift and 33's with lots of hacking. I met up with Sean and his lady friend which were very hospitable to me. My family only lives 20 minutes or so from Sean's place in the Rockford area.

You guys have a place to crash with me and my wife if you want to run the Rubicon or Fordyce trails here in Northern Cali.

I'm prolly gonna wind up dyin in dis' town...

Been all over the world and this country and I still keep coming back.

Me, too. Makes me want to curl up into a ball in the corner and start crying. I've tried to escape. I would have by now if I hadn't met this certain woman about 5 years ago...
