I just wanted to bring to your attention that Summit Racing is offering an instant rebate of $50 on the Hypertech Power Programmer III (HYP-50012) The new slashed price is now $349.95

Must be better than the JET PCM I bought - almost useless!

they slashed the price because Hypertech lowered the MAP pricing. MAP pricing is minimum advertised price. I know this, because we just found out about it at my work. if you look it up on hypertechs website, they will show their dyno of their estimated HP and TQ increase. Not much and not worth the money they are going for! Now if the jeep was a diesel, it would be a steal.

so dont be fooled about the instant rebate, its just a good way to market it. Everyone has it for 350.

I just inspected both dyno charts and they both stink. At 2000 rpms w/91 octane the hypertech showed +4 hp and a max +13hp at 4600 rpms. the Jet chip showed a more even +10-+13hp accross the rpm spectrum. The only positive is that the hypertech can run 87 octane but w/minimal hp results +3-+7 hp check it out http://www.hypertech.com/get_dynochart.php?cid=28&vid=1315943&tp=jpeg

and the Jetchip one http://www.jetchip.com/dyno.asp

If you ask me theres no way in hell I will ever purchase either one of these, there is not enough HP for the dollar and/or do I find it necessary to be constantly putting gas in my XJ thats 20-30 cents more a gallon every time I fill up
