Cherokee Crawl 2011

SO I was looking for a SEC thread and there's a ton of them, and basically 4.5 on 31's unlocked but it goes up every line I try at Uwharrie.
On the bad side not all my pieces make it up with me going up Daniel, and last year it was my rear shock mount that needed a break right at the summit:wave:.

Daniel is a blast, we did the trail December 4th, 2 XJ's in our group, both open/open on 33's made it no problem, but they both busted out the rear driver side windows on the damn tree right there at the front.

No promises as of yet if I will make the crawl, its too far ahead and too much money for me to give a sure answer at this point, but if we do go I will definately let you know Wolfpack.

Lol sorry I was mentioning starting a new thread. You have any pictures? Student at State?

Fees: They have 2 trial passes available. 30 day and yearly. The 30 day pass was $20 IIRC and the yearly was $35. I did the yearly last year and it will not expire till after the crawl. So I got two years for the price of one. Sort of. Permit info here: http://www.harlancountytrails.com/blackmountain-permits.php

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=hartsville,sc&daddr=34.72005,-80.77063+to:34.81865,-81.659+to:34.8692771,-81.7319275+to:34.9345,-81.89527+to:34.9451,-81.94454+to:34.93643,-81.99343+to:harlan,ky&geocode=FZuBDAIdSC06-ymBraM2l3VViDGGMCbcnrrfVA%3BFTLJEQIduokv-ykRT1dvptdViDF_pappJyVLpQ%3BFVpKEwIdiPsh-ynbWQsJGK9XiDHC0Q459-bJYQ%3BFR0QFAIdqd4g-ynzRCelX6ZXiDHs3_tRq_6xUQ%3BFeQOFQIdmmAe-yltDptP259XiDHA524sUtra_A%3BFUw4FQIdJKAd-ynFCErFAp5XiDFAX1uULqrGQw%3BFW4WFQIdKuEc-yklaLJCnJ1XiDFBr2XzvnBNVQ%3BFYguMgIdCJwI-ynLsVJeQUFbiDEfkKn6R5mKJw&hl=en&mra=dvme&mrsp=6&sz=11&via=1,2,3,4,5,6&sll=34.9017,-81.800079&sspn=0.293396,0.514297&ie=UTF8&ll=36.297418,-81.798706&spn=2.306456,4.11438&z=8

I head North towards Charlotte going through Lancaster over to Spartanburg. I catch 26 North all the way to the VA line. Then through the mountains of VA and KY to Harlan. If you have any questions and do not get a responce please feel free to pm Ed, Mark or Me and we will try and answer them for you.

So, basically, 3 nights at Harlan in primitive camping with electricity is going to cost $60 plus 1 year pass cost $35. So, $95. Not too bad for a whole weekend and when ever I want to come back. $500 bucks should cover the trip no prob. I'm soooo ready to go! Got lots to do to the Jeep before then.

I've got bunches of pictures and vids from Wheeling mostly at Uwharrie, but have yet to figure out how to post on here without a separate link. Yes I'm a student at NCSU and Wake Tech for my electives (cheaper). Most my money goes to Tatonka/Tuff. Any advice on how to post pics on here without a separate link?:badpc:

oh good now i have an idea on how much this is going to cost me. i told my Gunny (boss) about the trip as i was summiting leave. he asked me why so soon and i told him it was a matter of being ahead of the pack. im so stoked for this!

I think you meant this year if you go the general will have alloys and superjoints in the front? 260 joints and harlan won't get along

yes he should have atleast chromos and 760x's

Wear shoes hippy!! lol jk jk.

my shoes were soaked through from the water/mud at the wash... ill definately bring my sandals as extras this time. :)

Hmmmm, pondering this one! I haven't been to Harlan yet either.

well i am officially NOT going to the crawl this year. my wifes 30th bday is that weekend so i am going to throw her a party for the special occasion. plus the YJ prolly wont be fixed by then anyways.... long story short: big ticket problems and not alot of money. i definately hope to make it to the next event or atleast the fall flog!!!

have fun without me. and i know you will be missing my chili :-/

Good deal but you can send it via PM.

I'm out. :looser:

Not looking good for me either. No work in a month and a half = no money = no crawl. I am hoping something comes through but I need at least another $1000 worth of work before I can commit, and with the way things have been going lately, I have very serious doubts that it will happen. :(
