So my jeep threw a cel so i read the codes out to be a p0121(tps) and a p0320( ignition reference signal). Car misses around 2k-3k rpms. from what ive read the tps code is consistant with the symptoms but what is the code p0320, and what does it ential? thanks in advance.

What year we talking about here?

Either way...the tps will have the greatest affect on an engine at idle and low rpm's while the crank position sensor will have a greater affect at the midrange since it is responsible for sending the signal to the compy to tell the ignition to advance and such. It also sends the pulse for it to run in general but there are several degrees of failure for a cps that can offer different symptoms.

Haven't priced either recently but I don't imagine them to be terribly expensive. A lot of autoparts stores (CSK being one of them) will read your codes for you for free and give you a print out of what they are and how they affect your vehicle.

97 sport, i read up on the codes and firgured the crank sensor was p0320. it has only had hard starting probably three times or so. i will replace the tps and see were that gets me and depending on the price of the crank sensor might do that at the same time. thanks
