Hi, I have just installed a 5" lift on my XJ and do not like the lower frt shock extensions that I built. I would like a complete set of full length shocks for a 4-5" lift. What do you have? I am cheap, but do occasionally spend money.
Thanks, Art

I have 4 bilstein 5100's. They are used, not nexactly cheap but cheaper than new.

pm or email me if interested. $175

I think I can get a set new heckethorns to you for about $125 plus shipping. They are inexpensive hydro shocks...you cheap skate :)

i have 2 for the front, they are in good shape~ the ones for the rear are a lil beat up and might b shorter there nt bad but fit my 4.5 really well.....

Good call, I spent a good hour researching and cross referencing Black Diamond shock part numbers. I bought 4 shocks from this buyer, all with loop ends. I found what the stock XJ shock demensions are and added the necessary inches and then searched my guts out. I will have to make some mount brackets, but for $40.00 plus shipping for new shocks to fit a lifted XJ. Can't complain.
Thanks for the heads up. Art

Art, could you use bpe's on them? You have let us know how they work out. And also maybe the part #'s, this may become very useful. :guitar:

Please do not take these comments as fact as I have yet to confirm fitment. According to several sources including Monroe and Black Diamond the stock shock demensions for an XJ are: Frt extended-19-21" collapsed-12-13.25" Rear extended-21" collapsed-13". According to these figures, frt and rear share the approx. measurements except for the mounting points. The shocks that I went from Black Diamond @ http://stores.ebay.com/Superlift-Suspension-Systems_Shock-Absorbers_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ10QQftidZ2QQtZkm
are Frt- prt#85150 and measure 30"X17" (same format as above, ext vs. collapsed) Rear-prt#85300 26"X15.5". There may be other shocks that are listed that will more closely work, but selection was a problem. My Jeep right now is sitting 5.5" of lift and I could have probably went with a shorted frt shock, but oh well. I also researched the Monroe shock application chart also and made a trip to the local Advance Auto. The shocks I found through Monroe was for a late model Expedition for the frt and 65-70 model Buick for the rear. These shocks had the right measurements, but was going to need the same type of application adapters or modifications. They were also priced at $39.90 and $34.00 each and was not in stock. Please take any of this info. and use it with care, I do not guara ntee any of it to work for you. I spent several hours on this site researching this very subject and never ran accross any threads depicting a shock from a parts store that would work with out any modifications. Good luck, and I will post a follow-up once shocks are installed. Art
