i know its probably not gonna see use every single day, but those cheap ass aluminum die's make me nervous. jd2 dies are solid cnc'd steel, IIRC the 1 3/4 die was 37lbs....
something tells me jd2 makes em this way for a reason, and i doubt it is to inflate shipping prices. i would love to hear it if anyone has used one with .120+ DOM tubing for longer than a couple bends......
Agreed. I'm very happy with the plans I got from gottrikes. The gottrykes is nice. I have it and so does FrankZ. It is a fair amount of work to fabricate, but when you are done you have a VERY nice setup.
Mount the JD2 vertically on a mobile base. Add a HF air/hydro ram. Done. I have plans for the gottrikes bender....prolly going to go with the JD2 Model 3 because my labor to fab one is worth $$$.

Agreed. I'm very happy with the plans I got from gottrikes. Plus, I like the vertical better than the horizontal a lot of the package benders are as it allows you to do things like B-Pillar hoops without a large swing radius. (pictures)
I have built two of the Go-trikes benders... they are the tits. let me know if ya need some help.![]()

just post up the plans so we can all see them. i dont think gottrikes will be to mad.. dies are what gets ya.
1.75" is spec for jeepspeed too, so its a good choice.... I run an overbuilt 1.5"DOM cage, which will probably be fine, but will never pass tech to race... I shouldve waited for the 1.75 die, but instead I started with the 1.5", which is great for bumpers/etc. the 1.75" die is pricey and HEAVY!!I was thinking about going 1.75" dies since it's the size required for the weight class of my 240 in SCCA.
yup, awesome deal. the smaller dies are cheaper, but you basically still got em free, assuming the benders metal in good condition and all the pins/fallower blocks are there.
