Cheap floor covering

The carpet in my '89 was water and oil soaked when I got it, so replacing the carpet became necessary. Of course I had rust under it, but only one hole, beneath the spare tire perch, as I suspect everyone finds.

I decided to make a cheap pad covering for the rear floor, in advance of herculiner. Next the rust will be sanded, treated, primed, and herculiner'd. Then I will reinsert this foam floor cover.

Cheap interlocking pads from Lowe's, used for gym floors, etc. No adhesives necessary.

The pictures should tell the story, but feel free to ask questions. Time needed, a nice afternoon.

Next I plan to use the same material with some industrial strength velcro to make a new headliner!:looser:

Looks nice, i have been wanting to do that on my whole rig, how does it do for sound deadening?

It's only in the bed, and I think the custom package tray in back also helps with sound; but, I didn't notice any increase in sound compared to the carpet. It wipes clean and removes easily. Once the area underneath is coated, it should insulate even more.

Thanks.:peace:

looks nice, when are you going to tell us about all those containers and clamps and stuff

aaahhh! Very observant; Some other "convenience" mods.

Case is fixed to rear seat, and easily removable!

As a daily driver, and sometimes hunting/fishing vehicle, I wanted some more privacy and usefulness in the rear! :skull1:

Nice set up.
