already have an SYE in my jeep, put a ford 9 under it and when i went to hook up the rear shaft i realized it didn't fit. the 9 has a 1350 yoke on it.

is it possible to change out just the slip yoke on the shave i already have to the larger end? i see that Spicer makes a "3-3-488KX Slip Yoke 1350" yoke. anyone ever do this?

Are you sure it's 1350 and not 1330?
standard yokes were for a Ford 1204 ujoint ... which was 1330 at the axle and 1310 at the driveshaft with larger 1330 sized caps all around.
IIRC there was no stock 1350 yoke ever offered ... just the 1310 and 1330 standard and large (think 1330 joint with 1350 sized caps) cap sizes. 1350's are available but they were an aftermarket addition.

I was in a similar situation as you when I installed a JB Conversions HD Super Short SYE in my Wrangler. It came with a 1310 yoke, but I also had a 1330 pinion yoke and a factory Ford 1330 double cardon shaft that I wanted to use.

The best I could do was find a 1330 CV style yoke with the correct spline count & shank OD and I machined it to fit. IIRC it was a 32 spline for the JB Conversions kit, and the yoke I found was a Spicer # SPI-2-4-5441 from Northern Drivetrain.

It didn't take much work to make it fit so that may be an avenue to look at, even if you're going with a 1350 instead.

From my research, and just for reference, a 1330 uses a 1350 sized cross with 1310 sized caps. From what I understand, and I could be wrong, it's possible to swap 1330 caps for 1350 caps and have a standard 1350 u-joint.

not going to work as the bearing journals are actually sized differently

Just put a 1310 yoke on the 9" or use a crossover joint.

The crossover joints aren't that special of a part that they're to find, but your best bet is just running 1310s all the way around.

With what you're planning on doing with the rig, even with an LS engine if you do put one in, you won't be hurting those.
