champion winches

so i bought a slightly used champion 10,000 lb winch a few months ago and after finally getting around to installing it i find that the lever that engages and disengages the spool is worn , and will not fully engage.

i am not having any luck finding a dealer that sells these things or parts.. does anybody here know of a good source ? i may try and weld the lever and grind er back into shape but am not sure if it will hold and dont really wanna be let down on the trail.......... any help would be appreciated thanx
