Chainsaw questions From a No0B

hey didnt i say chaps were a good idea. no need to be a prick. since he is new to using the saw and doesnt know much about it i wanted to stress operating angle so he isnt in the way of the saw in the first place. and watch ax men or swamp loggers none of them wear chaps.
they are also professional loggers. They do it every day, and use higher quality gear. you will find that the chaps are built into their pants

kas i never said anything about a standing up tree. i was talking about a piece that was already down. ie if there is a pile of limbs pull one out and put it in a good cutiing position. here in ca u arent aloowed to cut anything down u r only aloowed to cut 'down dead wood" . but my main point was to just stand at the back of the saw and hold it firmly so if it jumps u arent directly in its path. where i go cut fuel wood u would be surprised how many people are off to the side of it and when it jumps it damn near gets em. but yes i do wear chaps and the ax men comment was a little joke. u guys are way to serious.

when it is an issue of safety and suggesting patently unsafe practices to people, yes, we are quite serious. Otherwise, not really.
