Care Package

ok, is there a timeframe when you would like this done? I am in Littleton and would be willing to pick up items from anybody in the Denver area and bring them down to the Springs.

I will be getting items over the next couple days and I will drive 'em down to you. If anybody has anything they want me to pick up, send me a PM.
Scott was hoping to head down on Wednsday. Driving to you is a pretty generous offer on his part.

Time for me to get up on my Soap Box....

I realize that times are tough and it can be difficult for some of us to contribute to this effort....BUT!!! Let's think about what has been done for each and everyone of us. PFC. Seth Stanton made the ultimate sacrifice and for this I am eternally gratefull. Seth's unit is still over there doing a job that so few are willing to do and wether you agree or not with the reasons...THEY ARE STILL THERE. We as Americans owe so much to these brave men and women. Now I'm not asking anyone to forego a meal, a car payment, medication, etc. What I am asking is for each and every one of you folks to pause and reflect on what is being done for all of us by people we don't know without any demands on us. The American fighting man is all that seperates us from those that would do us harm. They don't live in a 5 Star Resort, they don't get served gourmet meals, and they don't get to go home every night to their loved ones. All that they do is done for all of us.

So let's dig a little deeper and make that extra trip to the store. There are plenty of great ideas already posted in this thread so half the work has already been done for you. If you can't contribute this week, do it next week. I'll mail out as many boxes as I have too,as often as I have too.

Let's do something for the men and women in Seth's unit, in honor of Seth....please.

I agree with you 100% Frank.

What kinds of things would you like to see be included with the package you're sending?

I thought someone was gonna do a thread where we could print it and send it - pics of us, our rigs, well wishes...... I think I suggested it, but thought someone was gonna start it..... I shoulda stayed on top of that.

I been restraining meself there Frank, for reasons of my own. I do want to add that we're not talking a lot of $$$ to make a difference to someone. I have a nephew in Afghanistan, his mother tells us to keep it cheap because the stuff may never make it's destination, and it's disposable when it does.

The fact that someone "at home" is thinking of you means a lot. The fact that they picked up an extra chap-stick at the grocery store means a lot because there is no King Soopers they can go to at midnight. When they're waiting for that next shit storm to land on their heads, who cares how tattered that book is, or how old that movie is, they have something else to focus on for a moment. Sometimes the smallest of things can make the biggest difference for someone.
