. Car speakers in a home listening environment usually sound like crap but you could get a power inverter and do it if you would like.

You are going to need something like this. And run that to the "power" on the head unit.

Then its just a matter of putting the wires back together.

120v to 12v adapter.

Johnnie Walker is right you need some sort of way to convert from 120v to 12v. A simple but "ghetto" way of doing it is using an old computer power supply (which most people have laying around). An old ATX power supply will work. Just take a paper clip and short the green wire #14 with any of the black ground wires. Then use your multimeter and check some of the power connections to see which gives you 12v and put that to both your power and remote lines and obviously ground to black. I believe 12 is pin 10 on the power supply main harness...

Like I said super ghetto, but cheap. I've used this setup to test car audio out in the garage as well as a "workbench" powersupply.

Go to Goodwill (If you have those where you live). You can pick up a mediocre stereo system for about 20-30 bucks.

the speakers themselves dont care ( ac at X watts is ac) no matter the location just make some cheap boxes and put a cheap home stereo behind it

It can work well. Just put the speakers in boxes. Otherwise it will sound badly. 12v to 12v. Use an old battery hooked up to a trickle charger.

k ya ill probly get the converter then and will that still provide enough power for like my 2 amps and subs
but reason im not getting a full system is its my grandpas garage and i dont want to go get that stuff then move it later eventually this sound system might be sold or back in a vehicle
and im actually pretty sure this is gonna sound good cuz it wasnt like stock shit i had really nice stuff all in boxes all really high watts
