Can someone call or send a written letter to a car manufacturer requesting to purchase a completely finished body minus interior/drivetrain/doors?

In my case, not saying what it is.. the unibody, treated and painted windshield and rear hatch and window.

You get the idea... Anyone know anything about this? Or know a better place to post this any other forums ect

Chrysler used to sell them. IIRC, they called them a "Body in white".
No drive train, axles, or even interior, just a body.

IIRC they used to sell them though DC <Direct Connection> before they changed the name to Mopar Performance.

Years ago I had a Peugeot, and I had the factory manuals for it as well. The manual included very extensive instructions on body repair, including the replacement of what they termed the "hull." I've never heard of it actually being done though, at least in the US, where the cost of the job would simply result in the car being totaled.

I've wondered, though, about the possibility of getting a whole unibody as a spare part. It would certainly make some do-it-yourself wreck restorations easier.
