Built my own spare tire carrier....

Did a lot of searching here and got some good ideas, so I tried it. If anyone see's a weak link, or flaw, don't hesitate. I'd rather make a correction now, thank drop a tire on the highway. Drove with it for two days now, and it seems pretty solid.....SID

Step 1, first piece into trailer hitch..

Step two, start welding..

Step three, find something to make the tire mount from..

Skip a couple steps...

Almost done..

Finished....for now...

Next step.. Rear spotlight at top of remaining post, finalize license plate relocation, and paint of course...SID

So you have to unscrew a nut and bolt to get the rear hatch open?

For now yeah... I bought a quick-release type pin to use but it was 5/8", I want to get a 1/2" one, otherwise I'll drill it out and use the 5/8 one....SID

haha seems like people like the one i made haha, but i'd angle it to make the tire at the same angle as the window. heres some finished pics of mine now:

Finished, painted, holds 33" tire. Next step...off-road test. I didn't angle the tire to match the truck so when I build my bumpers over the winter, I can just redrill the bolt pattern and use this on anything........SID
