bucks and feels like shifting

87 xj auto when i hit about 2600 rpm the jeep bucks and feels like it wants to shift to another gear any ideas

My 88 was doing somehthing similiar, turned out mostly (there were some other things going on) to be the O2 sensor. It would act up in a pretty narrow RPM band, usually at lower vacuum (throttle open more than say a third or half).

Sounds like a TPS (throttle position sensor) going bad to me.
