Brighten the night???

First thing that you need to do is upgrade the wiring harness. This will brighten even the stock headlights. The stock wiring is way too small and causes voltage drop at the headlights.

Go Jeep's site has the best write-up.
http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoHeadlightLoom.htm

After this, then proceed and replace the stock headlights with something like this.

Change to a 100-watt bulb and see how this works.
For additional light, mount additional bulbs on top of the bumper, not under it.
On the roof is preferable.

Deer are unbelievably stupid. If they didn’t damage your Jeep, I would say go ahead and hit as many of them as possible. Coyotes need to eat too.

Upgraiding the stock harness is by far the best bang for the buck in terms of headlight upgraids. I ran mine with a set of Sylvaina Silver Stars, and IPF driving lights for years before finely upgraiding to a set of CEIBI E-code lenses, and 80/95w bulbs. Now with the CEIBI's I can't even tell when the IPF's are on. If you decide to make your own harness I found H4 bulb pluggs at Advance Auto that I was able to adapt to my 10AWG harness.

I've got 4 of these mounted to a light bar I made. They're pretty cheap if you look around and 100 watts each... you can find 'em at autozone as well.

Still recommending that people put HIDs into a Halogen housing eh?

:gag:

there are mixed results depending on a lot of things. I've seen this work just fine and not blind people, but then i've seen not work. for offroad, i wouldnt 2nd guess the brightness of HID.

Check out RoundEyes.com they have the headlight conversion which works great and a set of fog lights that fit in the stock fog lamp location. The headlights are $95 and a direct swap for the stock bulbs but 40-60% brighter. The driving lights (55w)are $34 for the pair and come with wiring, relay and switch.

Well worth it.

my 2 cents.get good halogen headlites, then run big wire for 100watt/+ driving/flood lites.Super bright headlites hurt if your going the other way. I drive for a living.been their seen that! Also remember whatever you do someday they'll burnout or get smashed, keep it cheap.

These looks great, one of my silverstars just burnt out. I liked those a lot but now i have one stock and one silverstar temporarliy and it looks goofy. I was looking at these ( http://www.quadratec.com/products/97009_120.htm ) and these ( http://www.quadratec.com/products/97009_121.htm ) . Anyone have any experience with these and how bright are they? I know this one guy with headlights that were very blue and they turned black when off, i think they are black magic's or something?

definatly go with light force about the same price as kc but they are BULLET PROOF
yes i tested with a 12 guage shot gun at 20 feet and just a couple of scratches

I have Silver Stars for headlights and lots of add ons.
