Are they required on tcases on trail only rigs? I flipped a dana 300 with a flipped 231 doubler, and I am wondering if I really need to add breathers?

Yes. It is just as important for the TC as for the diffs and transmission. You're in KY and I presume you'll be in mud. Mud means water, no breather means water injestion through seals. Get the drift?

After thinking about it more I am more worried about it heating up and spitting fluid out the seals, I try to stay afay from water, that is just expensive.
