Brass Pro Shops gets a thumbs-up!

Santa's a real Christian fellow, isn't he? A dwarf with magical powers who has flying reindeer and puts gifts under a tree that didn't grow where the savior was born, and comes from a land no one can go visit? I think I read about him in the Bible...
Santa Claus is based on Saint Nicholas of Myra, a 4th century Greek bishop.
Christmas is no longer a Christian holiday in the conventional sense. It never really was, but it's less so now. Enjoy it for what it is- being glad your friends and family survived another year. Spend time with them, enjoy your traditions- but don't whine about it.
It's a holiday that got accepted by the world for the most part. Till recently non Christians had no problem celebrating Christmas for the spirit of it without being religous. It wasn't till last few years that folks got all uptight about it being called Xmas rather then Holidays......

So I say if one does not want to celebrate Xmas, fine... but keep in mind that Santa Claus comes as part of the package. Picking and choosing the "convenient" portions is well..... BS.

Picking and choosing the "convenient" portions is well..... BS.

Christmas as you know it is nothing but "picking and choosing" with a measure of "completely made up" with a touch of history. The fire, the tree, the decorations, the wreath, the gifts, the feasts.... Waving a sword around and telling people this is the new name of the celebrations isn't quite the same thing as acceptance as you're implying.

So, we no longer exclude anyone in celebrating the holiday that didn't belong to any one faith in the first place. Oh, the horror.

I do think it's all bullshit though. But, my friends and relatives choose to observe it, it's crammed down our throats every year, and seeing the kids happy makes everyone smile. It's part of our culture, not our faith. Not a bad trade-off, but playing the victim card is popular these days.

edit- I hate the current version of "Christmas". But, when I wish you "happy holidays", it's sincere, and I don't care what you believe in, so long as you appreciate what you have. If you're offended that I don't specifically reference Christmas, well... you have your beliefs, and I have mine.

Happy Chrismahaunaqwanzica Everyone! There Shut up! :D I don't care if you are Muslim, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu or any other Religion. Let us have your holiday and you can have yours.

I'm spiritual, and I refuse to participate in any organized religion--the A**hats running them wouldn't know God from a jelly doughnut. Power and money, that is all organized religion has ever been.

That said, why in hell do all these A**hats have to keep screwing around with things just to be PC? What has empowered these A**hats in the last 30-40 years to start screwing with things?

And I don't like Christmas decorations in the stores before Halloween (or fricking Harvest Festival, whatever).

Screw it, from now on I only recognize Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Nov 10th USMC birthday and Veteran's Day.

I left off Labor Day because of the commie unions and with BHO in office nobody will be working for much longer anyway.
